The Story
Codependent ATX is a hospitality concept by UrbanSpace Real Estate + Interiors — the Austin firm behind several design-forward commercial spaces. Rather than opening a traditional cafe or bar, they set out to create a hybrid: a place where people could come together over cocktails, coffee, and conversation. The brand's own language calls it a 'new chapter' — a deliberate positioning as something Austin's all-day scene hadn't quite seen before.
The Vibe
Codependent isn't trying to be Austin's quietest coffee shop — it's trying to be Austin's most versatile one. By day it's a polished remote-work cafe with serious espresso. By night (Thu–Sat) it's a full cocktail bar with a 21+ door policy. The space is split: a laptop-free front half built for social energy, and a back half where laptops are welcome first-come-first-served. OpenTable reservations are available. Designed by UrbanSpace Real Estate + Interiors, everything feels considered.
Codependent ATX occupies a rare niche in Austin's cafe scene: it's genuinely great at both coffee and cocktails, and it stays open late enough to prove it. Situated in the Seaholm District at 301 West Ave, the concept was built by UrbanSpace Real Estate + Interiors around a single philosophy — a space where people come together over cocktails, coffee, and conversation. The result pulls double (sometimes triple) duty: remote-work cafe by morning, happy-hour spot by afternoon, and a 21+ bar Thursday through Saturday night. The happy hour schedule alone covers most of the week: all-day Monday, Tuesday–Friday 5–7 PM, and Saturday–Sunday 9 AM–2 PM brunch hour with $5 mimosas and $8 spritzes. Sundays feature Rose All Day — half-off all still and sparkling rose bottles. The Social Club adds an optional members-only layer for regulars who want access to exclusive events. It's the kind of layered hospitality concept that rewards repeat visits.
Must-Order Items
The signature crossover drink that defines Codependent's identity — $10 all day on Mondays during their all-day happy hour. Expect a proper pour, not a syrupy afterthought.
The menu rotates weekly specials across cocktails, wine, and coffee. Check Instagram before you visit — Codependent moves fast and the specials are worth planning around.
$5 mimosas and $8 spritzes Sat–Sun 9am–2pm. Sunday adds Rose All Day — half-off all still and sparkling rose bottles.
Cortados, lattes, and espresso drinks made with the same care you'd expect from a standalone specialty cafe. The coffee program holds up on its own — it's not an afterthought to the cocktail menu.
